Planroom Access

 Today, as in 1929, The Kern County Builders’ Exchange remains a non-profit association consisting of:
*       Licensed Contractors
*       Architects
*       Engineers & Surveyors
*       Industry Related Associates

 Now, more then ever, is the time to take full advantage of the Builders Exchange’s services. Not only to keep up to date on upcoming projects, but also be kept informed of issues that affect our industry.

Planroom Access

    The Builders’ Exchange is a full service plan room for the commercial and public works side of the construction industry. Plans are available to members on a first come, first served basis for estimating at our facility during office hours 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM Monday thru Friday.  In addition plans are available, on a reserved takeout basis, for overnight and weekend viewing from 4:00 PM till 9:00 AM the following business day. You are welcomed to stop by at any time during business hours and do your takeoffs. Please remember these services are for the sole use of our members.

   The Kern County Builders’ Exchange is also your one stop for plan copies. For a minimal fee, we will copy all non-restricted plans on a full size sheet for $2.00 per copy. This fee has not changed throughout the years and is considered a valuable plan room service to our members. Just by emailing or faxing the plan sheet numbers, with the corresponding plan, we can copy and print only the sheets you need and have them ready for you. This eliminates printing and paper costs for the industry.

     Have a question about bid dates, plan distribution, bidding lists, plan holder’s lists, etc…..?  We can also help you find your answers.  Our staff has been working with the construction industry for many years and will answer your questions accordingly. Any answers that we cannot provide, we can point you in the proper direction to find them.
    There are no charges to General Contractors, Owners, Architects and Public Agencies to place your projects in the Kern County Builders Exchange Plan Room. This has allowed maximum exposure as well as extremely competitive bids from our members.

Kern County Builders Exchange

     Most of our non restricted plans are copied on site at the Kern County Builders’ Exchange Planroom, including all spec books and addendums. We sometimes receive notices of upcoming projects before the actual project release date. This allows our staff to do the research.
    If you need to meet with any clients, owners or vendors, we offer our board room to all members on a reserved basis. Call at least one business day prior and we can reserve the board room for you. A serving bar, refrigerators and microwave are available to provide “Bring Own” snacks or lunches.

     Our services are based on experience since 1929. Although The Kern County Builders’ Exchange has grown with the industry, we don't claim to know everything but, we try hard to keep learning. If you are a current member, or would like to become a member, stop by and give us some of your ideas. Our Board of Directors love to vote in new, innovative and productive ideas from the people who benefit from them the most.

    At the Kern County Builders’ Exchange Planroom, we strive to meet our member’s needs. We make ourselves available to help our members achieve their goals in the construction plan industry. Our coffee is always fresh, the atmosphere is always friendly and just when a quiet moment is required our facility could be the answer. Even Online access, a quick phone call on a landline, use of a copier or printer is not a problem when you are visiting. If the statement, “You’ve got the bid” is possible, The Kern County Builders’ Exchange wants to do what they can to help.
